Ella Bokor is a Romanian cellist, educator and cultural manager. She is the Principal Organizer of the CellEAST Festival – International Competition – Masterclass, founder of the MiniCellos educational project, President of the PlaCello Cultural Association, Artistic Coordinator at the Romanian Youth National Art Center and cello professor at the “Dinu Lipatti” National College of Arts in Bucharest.

She is a member of the PlaCello Ensemble, Duo Cello Jaya, Ludens Piano Trio and Violoncellissimo, ensembles with which she has taken part in numerous national tours since 2016, as well as international tours in Ireland, Vietnam and the Republic of Moldova.

Throughout her career, Ella Bokor has been invited to participate in numerous prestigious cultural and educational programmes and festivals, including SoNoRo, ICon Arts, Ravanelius, the Klaipėda Cello Festival, SoNoRo Conac, ISA – International Summer Academy of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, Villa Musica in Germany, Cello Fundamento in Vietnam, the Plovdiv International Chamber Music Festival, the George Enescu International Festival, the Thessaloniki Music Festival, the Meridian Festival, the International Week of New Music, ConnectArts and SoNoRo Interferences.

She has performed alongside distinguished musicians such as Blaise Déjardin, Atanas Krastev, Wen-Sinn Yang, Bruno Cocset, Krzysztof Karpeta, Dragan Đorđević, Chu Yi-Bing, David Grimal, Jan-Erik Gustaffson, Alexandra Guțu, Diana Ketler, Sergey Malov, Cristian Măcelaru, Alissa Margulis, Marie Luise Neunecker, Valentin Răduțiu, Denis Severin, Răzvan Popovici, Mihail Jojatu, Wynton Marsalis, László Fenyő, Mihai Marica and Attila Pasztor.

Ella Bokor has recorded the album UVERTURA with the PlaCello Ensemble and the album TALES in collaboration with Duo Cello Jaya, a chamber ensemble to which more than ten contemporary works for two cellos have been dedicated.

She graduated from the National University of Music Bucharest, where she completed her Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD studies. She also studied in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main through an Erasmus scholarship. Between 2021 and 2025, she was Associate Professor in the Chamber Music Department of the National University of Music Bucharest.

Through her artistic activity, educational work and commitment to cultural development, Ella Bokor continues to contribute significantly to the promotion of classical music and to the development of new generations of musicians.
